At PCAC, your pet's pre-surgical blood work is a complete blood work, not an abbreviated pre-surgical "mini" panel.  It includes a CBC (complete blood count), 25 chemistries, and thyroid levels and a heartworm test depending on your pets age.  (Pets under 6 months of age have not had time to test positive to heartworm, and are not likely to have thyroid issues).  We do complete blood work because a seemingly healthy pet is not as likely to have underlying issues show up on a "mini" panel.  Also, this gives us a more complete picture for comparison as your pet ages, and gives you more "bang for your buck."
