All animals having a
moderate sedation dental at PCAC will receive:
A
pre-op/surgical exam the day of the procedure.
Injection of sedatives (different than anesthesia free dental) to allow
for stress free prophylactic dental cleaning above and below the gumline
A
complete oral exam with periodontal probe and charting
Ultrasonic scaling above and below the gumline, polishing and fluoride
treatment
Antibiotic injection
Subcutaneous (under the skin) fluids.

How a moderate sedation
dental differs from anesthetic dental procedures at PCAC:
Only appropriate for patients with mild (Grade I) periodontal disease
Quicker recovery
Less expensive
No general anesthesia
No IV catheter and fluids
No tracheal intubation
Unable to take radiographs on suspect teeth
Unable to perform any extensive procedures/treatments (extractions,
doxyrobe, OraVet, nerve blocks, mass removals, etc)
Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is not required but still recommended
(additional $110 for dogs and $121 for cats)

sedation dental:
$195
If any questionable teeth are found during a moderate sedation dental or
any additional treatments to the teeth/mouth are warranted they will
need to be done at a different time with an additional cost. Estimate
will be provided.
Discount of $65 towards additional dental treatment if completed within
30 days of moderate sedation dental.
